Joypurhat Girls' Cadet College

History:

On the basis of Ecnec approval, the abandoned cement Factory of Ministry of Mineral Resources was turned into a Girls’ Cadet College. The project area was on the western side with case on 2 JC/70, LA. The total area of the land was of 57 acres. The process of turning a part of the cement factory into a Cadet College started in the year, 2004.

The foundation stone of the College was established by the then Prime Minister on 29 March. 2005

Some other parts of the Cement Factory were given to Science and technology Institute and the remaining parts and situated in 200 Meter far from the present Joypurhat Girls’ Cadet College.

The College started its activities on April, 2006 under the immediate implementation pf projects of the then Prime Minister. The institution gave admissions to 5o Cadets in class Seven and 50 Cadets in class Eight for that year.

"SHIKKHAI PROGOTI" keeping the College motto in mind Joypurhat Girls' Cadet College started her journey on 16 july 2006.This year 52 cadets hae got themselves admitted into this college. At Present We have 326 cadets in this College.Here Cadets are given general education and elementary millitary training by highly qualified and well eperienced Teachers and Millitary Personnels.

Geographical position of the College

Joypurhat Girls’ Cadet College is established on 57 acres of land of 100 acre of land, budgeted for proposed cement factory in the village chokgopal and south khonjanpur beside the main road leading towards Dhamurhat away from Joypurhat town. The probable distance of the college from Joypurhat railway station is 3.5 km west.

Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College

History:

Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College was established on 01 June 1982 covering 27.37 acres of land in the heart of Mymensingh town. It was the first girls' cadet college that came into being on the inheritance of Residential Model School (RMS). The aim of establishing the Girls' Cadet College was to spread quality education among the young meritorious girls with a view to making them all round potential citizen to qualify defense as well as civil services. after the admission tests for Class VIII, IX and X which were held at the very outset of the year 1983, the young girl cadets for the classes of VIII, IX and X walked into the first ever Girls' Cadet College on 29 March 1983. First admission test for class VII was held on 12 February 1983. On 29 May 1983 the first batch of class VII was inducted in Mymensingh Girls' Cadet College. However, the admission test for the cadets of Class XI was held on 6 August 1983 and they joined the college on 10 September 1983. The first Principal and project director was Capt. (Rtd) Karim Uddin Ahmad. First Vice Principal, Mr Ashraf Ali, joined on 18 October 1982 and the first Adjutant Capt (later Major) Monower joined on 07 August 1982. The College has run all the way since 1982 with its motto. "Oh lord Enhance my knowledge".

History

Feni Girls’ Cadet College (FGCC) is the 11th among 12 cadet colleges in Bangladesh. Located in Feni District, it presents a nice panoramic view stretching along the Feni-Chhagolnaiya Highway. It spans over an area of 47.59 acres, a part of an abandoned British Airfield constructed in 1942 during World War II.

Cadet colleges in Bangladesh have become synonymous to glory and success for their excellence in terms of education as well as creating leaders fostering values of respect, loyalty and moral courage. The number of cadet colleges increased to 10 after the Liberation War.

In this triumphant onward march of cadet colleges, one important thing came into notice regarding the number of girls’ cadet college. Among the ten cadet colleges in Bangladesh, only one (Mymensingh Girls Cadet College) was for the girls while nine other were for boys. The necessity to increase the number of girls’ cadet colleges was felt to ensure better opportunity of education for girls. The introduction of commissioning female officers in Defense Services in 2002 added more impetus to the issue. Finally decision was taken to establish two more girls’ cadet colleges at Feni and Joypurhat.

After a comprehensive reconnaissance a portion of an abandoned British Airfield (constructed in 1942 during World War II) was chosen as the site for Feni Girls Cadet College. The MES (Military Engineer Services) started the project work on 29 June 2004. Cadet selection procedure started in December 2005 and after a nationwide competitive examination best girls were selected for admission.

Initially only minimum number of essential Officers, Faculty Members and Staffs were posted from old colleges while the recruitment procedure was going on. The college received the first batch of newly recruited employees on April 2006. The college opened on 15 April 2006 with 100 students (cadets), fifty each from class VIII and VII. On 7 June 2006 the then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia formally inaugurated the college through a grand ceremony. Ministers, Chief of three Service, Senior Military and Civil Officers, Elites, Staffs of the college and Cadets were present on the occasion. The college was started with only few essential installations while the project work was still in progress. Now the college stands with a complete and vast infrastructure providing all facilities to cadets.

মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনির ধারনা

-বাংলা ভাষায় মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনি ৭টি। যথা, অ, আ, ই, উ, এ, ও, অ্যা।

মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনি কাকে বলে?

-মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনি বলতে সেই সব স্বরকে বোঝায় যেগুলিকে ভাঙা যাবে না এবং যে স্বরগুলি অন্য কোনো স্বরের রূপভেদ নয়।

ধ্বনি কী?

-কোনো ভাষার উচ্চারিত শব্দকে বিশ্লেষণ করলে যে উপাদানসমূহ পাওয়া যায় সেগুলোকে পৃথকভাবে ধ্বনি বলে। ধ্বনির সঙ্গে সাধারণত অর্থের সংশ্লিষ্টতা থাকে না, ধ্বনি তৈরি হয় বাগযন্ত্রের সাহায্যে। ধ্বনি তৈরিতে যেসব বাগ্-প্রত্যঙ্গ সহায়তা করে সেগুলো হলো ফুসফুস, গলনালি, জিহ্বা, তালু, মাড়ি, দাঁত, ঠোঁট, নাক ইত্যাদি। মানুষ ফুসফুসের সাহায্যে শ্বাস গ্রহণ ও ত্যাগ করে। ফুসফুস থেকে বাতাস বাইরে আসার সময় মুখের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বাধা পায়। ফলে মুখে নানা ধরনের ধ্বনির সৃষ্টি হয়। তবে সব ধ্বনিই সব ভাষা গ্রহণ করে না।

বাংলা ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত ধ্বনিগুলোকে প্রধানত দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা হয় : ১. স্বরধ্বনি ২. ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি।

১. স্বরধ্বনি: যে ধ্বনি অন্য ধ্বনির সাহায্য ছাড়া নিজেই সম্পূর্ণভাবে উচ্চারিত হয় এবং যাকে আশ্রয় করে অন্য ধ্বনির সৃজন হয়, তাকে স্বরধ্বনি বলে। বাংলা ভাষায় মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনি সাতটি। যথা অ, আ, ই, উ, এ, ও, অ্যা।

২. ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি: যে ধ্বনি স্বরধ্বনির সাহায্য ছাড়া স্পষ্টরূপে উচ্চারিত হতে পারে না এবং যে ধ্বনি সাধারণত অন্য ধ্বনিকে আশ্রয় করে উচ্চারিত হয়, তাকে ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনি বলে। যেমন: ক্, খ্, গ্, ঘ্, প্, স্, ইত্যাদি। এই ধ্বনিগুলোকে প্রকৃষ্টভাবে শ্রুতিযোগ্য করে উচ্চারণ করতে হলে স্বরধ্বনির আশ্রয় নিতে হয়। যেমন: (ক্+অ=) ক; (গ্+অ=) গ; (প্+অ=) প ইত্যাদি।

বাংলা স্বরবর্ণ ও স্বরধ্বনি কতগুলি এখানে মনে রাখতে হবে, বাংলা বর্ণমালায় উপস্থিত অন‍্যান‍্য স্বরগুলো মৌলিক স্বর নয়। যেমন, ঈ স্বরটি ই স্বরের‌ই দীর্ঘ রূপ। আবার ঋ স্বরটি বাংলায় 'রি' রূপে উচ্চারিত হয়। ঐ,ঔ -- এরা দুটি স্বরের যোগে তৈরি যৌগিক স্বর। অপরদিকে অ্যা স্বরটি বাংলা উচ্চারণে বহুল ব‍্যবহৃত হলেও বর্ণমালায় এর নিজস্ব চিহ্ন নেই। এই প্রসঙ্গে বলে রাখা ভালো বাংলা বর্ণমালায় মাত্র দুটি যৌগিক স্বরকে রাখা হয়েছে। তার অর্থ এই নয় যে বাংলায় এই দুটি ছাড়া যৌগিক স্বর নেই। আচার্য সুনীতিকুমার চট্টোপাধ্যায় চলিত বাংলা ভাষায় মোট ২৫টি যৌগিক স্বরের কথা বলেছেন। প্রকৃতপক্ষে যৌগিক স্বরের সংখ্যা আর‌ও বেশি। কারণ এই ২৫টি আসলে যৌগিক দ্বিস্বর। বাংলা ভাষায় ত্রিস্বর, চতুঃস্বর এমনকি পঞ্চস্বরের যোগে গঠিত যৌগিক স্বরের‌ও যথেষ্ট নিদর্শন রয়েছে। সুতরাং বোঝা যাচ্ছে, বাংলা মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনির সংখ্যা কয়টি, এই প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেওয়া গেলেও "বাংলায় মোট স্বরধ্বনি ক'টি" এ প্রশ্নের যথাযথ উত্তর দেওয়ার মতো যথেষ্ট তথ্য আমাদের হাতে নেই। তাই বাংলা স্বরধ্বনি কটি বলতে বললে মৌলিক স্বরধ্বনির সংখ্যা বলাই উচিত। তবে বাংলা স্বরবর্ণ কয়টি জানতে চাইলে ১১টি বলতে হবে। কারণ বাংলা বর্ণমালায় ১১টি স্বরবর্ণ রয়েছে।
